Southwest Solutions offers many ways for individuals, organizations and corporations to support our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and families, while making southwest Detroit a place where people choose to live because of its vitality and diversity. Donations enable us to expand successful programs, better respond to community need, and withstand periodic funding cutbacks. Our volunteer program allows you to invest your talents and energies in helping to change lives and build community.
Get involved:
Become a “Conversation Buddy” in our English as a Second Language (ESL) Family Literacy program.
Volunteer at our Go-Getters homeless drop-in center to help with computer instruction, talent shows, arts programs, social events, gardening and other activities.
Help needy individuals, families and children with items and gifts on our Holiday Wish List each December

We accept online donations through our etapestry page. You may also call or write Bob O'Brien, Vice President for Development, at 313.297.1370 or email him.
Since 2006, we have received donations from more than 500 individuals. With these unrestricted funds, we have been able to help low-income tenants in our apartment buildings; help families avert foreclosure; help persons needing counseling for grief, trauma or depression but who don’t fit current funding guidelines. We were also able to preserve Family Literacy programs when federal funds were severely cut.
