Detroit, August 5,
2009 — Jules Cobb, a
wraparound resource coordinator at Southwest Counseling Solutions, is one of
five recipients of the Ò2009 Wrapper of the YearÓ awards.
The award was
presented at the 2009 Michigan statewide Wraparound Conference. Jules was
chosen because of her passionate commitment to the wraparound process in
assisting youth and families.
The wraparound philosophy emphasizes
that families are better served when they have voice and choice in the
treatment process, and when support networks and care providers collaborate to
address their particular needs. This approach actively engages the family at
every stage, identifies and enhances its strengths, and produces more
successful and enduring outcomes for the youth and his or her family.
ÒJules absolutely goes
above and beyond the call of duty for her families, whether itÕs empowering
families by teaching problem-solving skills or being by the hospital bedside of
a young client who passed away.Ó said Carlynn Nichols, program manager for Children, Youth and Families at Southwest Counseling Solutions.
ÒJules supports families by giving them hope and that extra push to realize
their dreams.Ó
ÒI am honored to
receive this award,Ó said Jules, Òand give all the credit in the world to my
amazing team at Southwest.Ó
The annual statewide
Wraparound Conference is organized by the Wraparound
Division of the Michigan Department of Human Services.
