Clinical Services
Southwest Counseling Solutions provides individually-centered and family-focused services for children and youth with serious emotional and behavioral disorders. Our intensive home-based services help those at risk of hospitalization or placement outside the home. Our outpatient clinic provides a full range of treatment services and choices. We also offer intensive home-based services for parents with infants/toddlers experiencing early psychological problems. These counseling services strengthen the bond between parent and child.

Services:
  • Case Management Services for at-risk children and youth
  • Intensive Home Based Services for children and youth who require more intensive mental health interventions
  • Outpatient Therapy and Case Management for children and youth diagnosed with a severe emotional disturbance and their families
  • Preventive Services for children and youth at risk of removal from the community due to problem behaviors
  • Infant Mental Health Services for infants and their caregivers
  • School Based Services for children and youth with school-related issues
  • Parent Support Group for the parents of the children and youth

Anyone seeking our counseling services must contact our ACCESS unit, which is the point of entry for all our mental health programs. The ACCESS unit triages all requests according to intensity of need and severity of symptoms. Appointments are scheduled for persons who meet our admission criteria. For urgent cases, we provide crisis intervention and evaluation for psychiatric hospitalization.

Southwest Counseling Solutions has an outstanding record of treating children and youth experiencing emotional or behavioral disorders. Results are measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS), which is a mental health evaluation tool. Children and youth are administered the CAFAS upon intake and at then at other points during their treatment. Results show that almost 94% of the children and youth we serve significantly improve their emotional, psychological and behavioral functioning. Our services not only help the children and youth recover; they help families function better.
