Adult Mental Health Counseling
All our counseling programs follow a “recovery-based” model, which recognizes that psychological distress has many causes, and thus many approaches must play a part in treatment. Our client-centered programs serve adults with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) at different stages of recovery. We provide case management services for those who require ongoing care and monitoring; and outpatient services for those symptoms are in remission. We continue to expand our range of services to meet the needs of our community.

Services:
  • Our client-centered programs serve adults in any stage of the recovery process
  • Case management services are provided to those who require ongoing support; outpatient services for those whose symptoms are in remission
  • Clinical and outpatient services for adults with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) who are at risk of hospitalization or whose symptoms are in remission but who require ongoing support and medication

We have a proven reputation for client-focused, innovative solutions to complex and challenging psychiatric, family and social issues. Our experienced and highly-trained staff can help resolve the behavioral health issues facing people of all ages and all walks of life. Our approach is comprehensive, integrated and proactive. And our services are easy to access. We can provide you the best resources and practices to reach your goals. Our aim is to understand your needs and to exceed your expectations by working together with you and others who care about you.

The Waterman Outpatient Clinic is located at 1700 Waterman St., Detroit, MI 48209. Anyone seeking our counseling services should contact our ACCESS and Welcome Center, which is the point of entry for all our mental health programs. The ACCESS unit responds to all requests and determines eligibility for services according to intensity of need and severity of symptoms. Appointments are scheduled for persons who meet our admission criteria. Crisis intervention services are provided on a walk-in basis.
